I'm looking for a shift assembly for a 67 or 68 from the handle to the shifter bazal to the bottom of the assembly also looking for a automatic brake pedal for the same year car taking the old tired 3 speed out and putting in an AOD.

Out of the car and disconnected, there's a little slop in the lower portion of the linkage where large bolt holds it together. If there is a plastic bushing or something that takes up the slop, you should plan on needing it.
