I became a believer of engine "fix" in a can when I was in High school selling auto parts 30 yrs ago. Dang, I'm dating myself ain't I? I bought a 72 Buick Skylark, for $300. Guy had no antifreeze and we had a cold night. He went to start it and crack goes the engine block. I replaced 2 freeze plugs, JB welded the hairline crack near motor mount. Poured a bottle of KW block seal and drove that car for 2 yrs. Sold it and guy drove it another 6 months til he wrecked it.
Some stuff really works!

When installing any seal I always smear a little silicone sealer around or on the gasket as an added measure to try and confront those pesky leaks, I actually have assembled engines and ran a bead of silicone around the oil pan and timing covers and sealed them like caulking a bathtub.
If I ever put on another pan gasket again I'm doing the whole thing in silicone sealer.

The thing to remember is that while oil and gasoline are produced based on science, those stop-leak products are based on alternative science.

I noticed the bottle said something about sacrificing a chicken while you chant "No mo leaky...No mo leaky".... sounded too complicated to me.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
