Re: No High Beam on My 1966 Mustang

Get a continuity light and check out the voltage starting at the dimmer switch to the wires to the high/low terminals on it and then to the wires termination at the head lamp.

Re: No High Beam on My 1966 Mustang

Did you check the juice at the dimmer switch?  That is the first place I would look.

Re: No High Beam on My 1966 Mustang

Are you sure the bulbs are good?  It would be rare I think for both high beam filaments to go out at the same time, but not impossible.

Re: No High Beam on My 1966 Mustang

Your troubleshooting so far points to the high beam filaments not working. Time to break out the alligator clips and power the high beam filaments directly from the battery. That will determine whether the high beam filaments are good.

I have purchased seal beam headlight bulbs that had nonworking filaments.

Re: No High Beam on My 1966 Mustang

No need to feel like a dummy.  I wouldn't have expected two bad bulbs either, or even one.

Nonfunctioning new headlight bulbs are more common than you would think.
