Hi I have a 1966 Mustang with no hi beam headlights Low beam works fine checked all the grounds everything is good with the grounds changed dimmer switch on the floor with a new one still no high beam. I added one of them kits for brighter head lights from a vintage mustang parts store still no high beam I plugged every thing back to the factory head light plugs still no high beam .I have tail lights and dash lights and the red high beam indicator light is on in the dash but no high beams the low beam works fine tail lights dash lights allgood Can anyone give me ideas on how to get high beams and the head lights are new also Thanks any Help will be appreciated

Get a continuity light and check out the voltage starting at the dimmer switch to the wires to the high/low terminals on it and then to the wires termination at the head lamp.

Did you check the juice at the dimmer switch? That is the first place I would look.

check continuity at the head light plugs 12.10 low beam 12.22 high beam' and 12.27 at dimmer switch dont know if im using the continuity gauge correctly and there is juice at the dimmer switch

I also jumped a wire at the dimmer switch low beams still come on but when i jump the wire to the high beams they dont come on tail lights dash light and high beam indicator in the dash are all on but no hi beams

Are you sure the bulbs are good? It would be rare I think for both high beam filaments to go out at the same time, but not impossible.

Your troubleshooting so far points to the high beam filaments not working. Time to break out the alligator clips and power the high beam filaments directly from the battery. That will determine whether the high beam filaments are good.
I have purchased seal beam headlight bulbs that had nonworking filaments.

Boy I feel like a dummy I checked the new bulbs hi beams are not working put my old bulbs back in and everything works fine hi and low beams Thanks for all the help guys I must of bought bad bulbs or burned out both hi beam at same Time Thanks again for all the help guys now im on the road again

Nonfunctioning new headlight bulbs are more common than you would think.

Who da Thunk both high beams would go bad at same time? ME cause I had same problem on my ^^ Galaxie 500 XL some years back. Did same as you and changed everything else to no avail! Finally got Humble and changed the lights and ...................
