"And it was good"

Been trying to get this coupe finished up.Been working on it day and night trying to get it done the right way.And I finally made it to the buffing stage. MS came over to show me how to use the buffer, observed, and I got to work on it. Not much else to say other than "GOD ALMIGHTY SHE'S A BEAUUTEYYY!!!"

fenders are the last parts to be buffed. Will have this whole car assembled by this weekend, trying to get it to a car show!

Re: "And it was good"

wow! thats quite impressive.  No one will ever know that that was done by an amateur (you are far from that now!)  and at home unless you tell them.

One of Hakans thumbs up!

Re: "And it was good"

When I was showing him how to use the buffer, I told him not to quit polishing until you could read the wattage of the overhead fluorescent lights reflected in the paint.  And he did it!

I do think he worked 24 hours a day on this thing once he saw what one panel could look like.  You gyuys have got to see the car.  RED does not describe the paint.  It is JALAPENO RED.  I can't wait to see it all back together.

Re: "And it was good"

Ramses, she is lookin' purty.

I painted my first hot rod, a '59 F-100, in the DRIVEWAY of my parent's house - some years ago - with a friend (he really did all the painting, I was just the grunt). It was almost the same red, but a laquer from the day, and many thin coats with much in-between sanding (the grunt work) to get rid of the bugs and crap that would settle in while drying. After the last coat, sanding and then buffing it was DEEP but whatta PITA that whole process was.

But anyway, that's the color my wife thought our '66 should be but I somehow over-ruled SWMBO because it's hard to go anywhere unnoticed by the Five-O in a bright red car. I predict that you may find the future Mrs. Ramses, if you don't already have a Mrs., while cruisin' in that machine. Betcha you're twitchin' to take it for a spin...

Over the years I've painted a dozen cars.  All outside. Ramses, you have proven what I've told many guys.  Ain't nothing like the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

All my Congrats yo you.
