Next "how to" tutorial..

Next time I come around to doing paint and body on a mustang, I think I'm gonna do a full on tutorial how to paint your car from home.Next car I have in line for paint and body, and a bunch of metal work is this 70 mustang. This is gonna be a fun one to work on.Unfortunately the car is not mine, its a friends car thats at my house to be worked on as soon as mine is done. The guy didnt have fencing around his house and said they tried to steal it a few times,so I offered to let him "rent" a spot at my house. If only he invests in it this would be a nice car. He's the only one working in his household with 3 kids to support.Kinda feel sorry for the car...cause he can't afford to put any money into it!! He's gonna come over and we're gonna take it apart, and sand it down to bare metal.Hopefully that motivates him to invest in it a little.

Ramses....  Do you think that guy would notice if it came back with a red 69 coupe roof on it?  Way more practical than that nasty old fastback stuff you can't see out of.

I'd get that fastback roof out of your way...

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: Next "how to" tutorial..

Sounds like a great idea.  I have written a ton of tech articles, both for my web site and when FordMuscle was paying me to do it and I have two pieces of advice for you:

1.  Take more pictures than you think you will need.  In most cases you will do the project then write the article and if you don't already have the picture you want you simply won't have one.  Some times you don't even realize a picture would be good there until you start writing the article so take pix of everything.

2.  write in such a way that makes sense for someone with no experience.  When I was in collage one of my my english professors gave us each two pieces of paper and told us to wright the directions for making a paper airplane on one of the pieces of paper.  Then when we were done we passed our directions to our neighbor and they had to follow our directions exactly and not draw from our own experience.  No one in the class was able to use the directions to make a paper airplane.  The reason for that is as we were writing we were not specific enough and assumed knowledge on the part of the direction follower.  A good technical article will spell it out simply, concisely and not leave any room for interpretation.  Just my .02
