Disc Brake Question

Hi there.  I just purchased the master kit Ck-165M that includes power booster for my 66 coupe and I have a couple questions.  I found a MC from a 2001 V6 Mustang here locally.  I also grabbed the distribution block with it.  Will I be able to use this block?  Does it replace a proportioning valve?

Also, I'm looking to either buy a front disc brake conversion kit, or buy the GT mounting kit here and source my own calipers/rotors/etc...  When looking in the local salvage yards, does with or without ABS matter?

If it is pertinent, I've also purchased an 8.8 rear end out of a '97 Explorer that I plan to have narrowed.  So, I will have disc/disc.

Thanks for the help!

Re: Disc Brake Question

You will want to use an adjustable proportioning valve, NOT the one from the 2,000. See my PV-100 valve

Calipers and rotors do not care if ABS or not. Just about everything after 98 had ABS.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Re: Disc Brake Question

the rear from a t bird with disc may work also & I think it doesn't need to be cut. you may want to dbl. check but I a friend of mine did the same thing. hope it works out for you.

Re: Disc Brake Question

You still have to weld spring perches onto it though because the T-Bird uses a Fox body link style suspension instead of leaf springs.

Re: Disc Brake Question

yes, you will need to weld leaf purcheson but that's easier & cheaper then cutting a rear . & you'll have a better gear ratio.then a truck rear
