Hi
Installing the borgeson box and I am looking for input on which headers have been used successfully. Please indicate which brand and model, as well as what mods if any. Also if HiPo mannys used, how, would, that, work with my setup?

Re: Borgeson header clearance

I'm using HIPOs and they work just fine.  5.0 EFI, AOD, MS power booster, 5.0 PS pump.

Re: Borgeson header clearance

KStang, can't help you on your question but your car looks awesome! Can you tell me more about your rim and tire setup? I can't find good tires for my 15's so I am thinking about upgrading

Re: Borgeson header clearance

Triton, thx. The rear are the 94 era Ford wheels, 8" with 5.75 BS or about. on a fox 8.8 rearend that is about 2" wider so the backspace works out, but it's tight on the outside. I believe 245 45 17. The front are torque thrust II or M can't remember and are 7" wide with 4" BS. I would go to 4.25-4.5" BS if was doing it again. 235.45 17 I think.  Not home this week or I would run out and look. Both front and rear look very close but if you are looking for it you can spot the differences.

BB, do you know how the HiPo's work with a cable clutch T5?

Re: Borgeson header clearance

Sorry, KStang, I do not know the answer to that question butt (TS&T), I believe Josh is running HIPO mannys with a cable.  If he doesn't chime in here soon I'll give him a call.  He never mentioned having any issues with the setup.

Re: Borgeson header clearance

I emailed Stan at ford powertrain applications FPR, they have a long tube that works with borgeson box. Has anyone used them? How do they work with MS cable clutch and T5?

Re: Borgeson header clearance

S69, this is from about a year ago. It's a bit cleaner now, but I have the header off and the master cylinder is out.

Re: Borgeson header clearance

I used the JBA Shorty coated headers on the 351W in my 68 with the Borgeson steering box. I have no issues with clearances at all, even with the 4R70W transmission.

Re: Borgeson header clearance

Ron68 thx, does the taller deck on the 351 give that extra clearance? About how much clearance do,you have over the box?
