Hey guys I'm looking for any pics or info on Spoiler, chin splitter and or air dams for the 65 mustang.
I have started making mock up of the look that I'm looking for but if Y'all have any others you have see or have on your cars I would Like to see it.

I'm partial to this look.

Somebody here used an explorer one, it looked quite good.
Not sure who it was though.

That is about the best looking one I have seen, if you insist on one at all. I really do not like the 69-70 Boss type spoilers on 65-68 Mustangs, or any other, except the Shelby style valance. . The purist in me recalls the Boss type did not exist before 1969 so are obviously not even a possibility on a tastefully done car.
******this is my opinion********. I believe a classic Mustang should look like a classic Mustang. Other add-on parts will date the car to current trends and will go out of style. Classic never goes out of style. That is why they call it classic. But, as with the original theme of the multiple options on Mustangs, it is your car and you should build it the way you want it. If all our cars looked the same it would not nearly be as exciting a hobby.
Love the blue color!

Thanks Steve,
I feel about the same on classic Mustang look and I'm not a fan of any of the bigger spoilers. I think I'm going with my plan of building one with the look of the one I have mocked up keeping with round ends and center. I'm real happy with the 65 Arcadian blue color but I feel I need a little black color to go with it...black spoiler and grill front and I blacked out the rear panel.

That is a really good looking car! I really like the blacked out rear panel.

Not a chin spoiler pro by any means butt.......how would it look if the center of it was a little more pointed and perhaps protruded a little more?
A side view would help a lot!
Good lookin 'stang. Certainly not a "cookie-cutter"!

Thanks,
The non "cookie-cutter" was just what I'm going for but at the same time keep it classic looking.
As far as the spoiler I will have to work more on the mock up, I had the first one with more of a point center and angled sides but with everything rounded on the front of the stang it looked strange to me. (kind of chevy 67 looking spoiler)

Your spoiler looks real nice. Not big like a 69. It's small and subtle.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
