Question: replacing rubber and window guide on 65 mustang vent Windows. So after getting it out of door which was more of chore than I thought, and removing parts noticed the 4 rivets on one piece and two rivets on the bottom vent frame which I thought was securing the window guide. After removing rivets, it was obvious that it was not attached to window guide as there was no holes on the guide. So do I need to put rivets in those two holes as it does attach anything? Also it looks like I can use a regular rivet punch and forgo the 100.00 tool advertised by parts store. Is that possible? parts are on back order so I have some time before putting back together. Thanks for any advise.

Could you post a pic of the riveted parts?

For the top rivet (don't recall any others on our 66) I used a standard rivet set of the proper size for those rivets and made a buck that clamps in the vice. Then I had someone hold the vent frame very steady with the rivet head in the buck and set the rivet (gently) with the set and a small hammer.
