Hi - I'm converting my 66 mustang to a mustang steve boosted setup..
I bought the bracket and booster off you - But I'm trying to source a master cyclinder locally -
Do you have any details on a model number for it - there seems to be many different master cylinders for a 2000 v6 model - with / without traction control / ABS etc..
Thanks
Dave

Hi Dave, I used this master cylinder from Auto Zone on my 66 setup. # NM4029

You want the one without traction control, Evidenced by both ports having same 10mm thread configuration. Available through MustangSteve.

Thanks Guys (P.S. I'm in western Australia - hence the source locally comment rather than buying through MS

Why not use a local part?

Thanks 50 Vert
That's what I have - an XB master cylinder in there at the moment - but the booster pushrod looks to be significantly different to the booster I had.
If I bolt the XB one to the booster - it would push the MC about 1" in. I'm assuming that the 2000 mustang model one has a deeper recess for the pushrod

Dave, if it helps you, I'm on my way to the Bash at the moment.
If you wanna call Mike from Mustang Steve, buy the M/C, and talk him into bringing it to the Bash, I'll mail it to you when I get back to Brissie.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
