Verifying I don't need this part

I think the part below came as part of my clutch cable kit that I bought from MS. I think it is the part referred to in the instructions where it says "Remove and discard black rubber bushing from top of new cable". It has been so long ago that I started this project (and am now trying to get it finished) that I can't remember where this part came from.

You don't need that part. It's removed to allow the cable to seat in the aluminum firewall mounted bracket that came in your kit....
