Surfside Beach dropped to 30 this morning but the "ocean breeze" made it feel like the 20's.

In Feb the low temp averaged in the mid 30's when normal is in the mid 40's. Cold, damp, windy. Lots of snow and rain. Sierra snow pack is between 150% & 200% of average. I80 over the Sierra has been closed any number of times.
I had no desire to do anything other than sit by the fire with a hot drink.

It was 1 when I went outside this morning. Think we topped out in the low 20s. Too cold for March.

Last week we saw few temps above zero. Monday it was -12 when I stepped outside. Today was 42, go figure. There is more snow and cold forecast for the weekend. The more snow we get the better, cold not so much.

On the bright side, the snow pack should help the drought a bit.
Last 4 years there hasn't been enough snow in Mammoth to get the snowmobiles out.
Chose to stay in Oz this year ... Summer is brutal ... only 100 today though.

We have been around -10 at night and single digits during the day. Warmed up today and got into the 30s. Felt like a heat wave.
The bigger issue we had was 34" of snowfall in the month of February

Almost 70 right now. Was in the 30’s earlier this week. Seems like it’s rained almost everyday for three months!!

You are right! There has been so much snow that Mammoth and many of the Tahoe ski resorts had to stay closed for several days because the lifts were totally covered. And, I don't envy you your drought, high temps, and the fires you are having.

Highs in the upper 60's, lows in the mid 40's.

Overnight low of 17, high today supposed to be 39. Been about 30 every day this week, and windy. Feels a lot more like February than March. Good news is its supposed to be in the 50's and 60's all next week. Hopefully we're coming out of it finally.

Been cold here too , But lately I been measuring it by garage floor temp. Spent More time this winter in the garage and on the floor and its cold !

It's been a mild winter. No large storms, just a few 2 to 3" snows. Last few nights down in the teens, and maybe inch of snow today. Next week looks to be the start of spring.

It got warm enough for the strawberry plants o start blooming here in S.E. Virginia (Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Va) Then we had a couple days nights below freezing, Sunday it's going to be +70. So as they say "if you don't like the weather here wait ten minutes".

They make card board boxes for that!!
When I was 280 pounds, the cold didn't affect me too bad. Layer up and go do what was needed. Now that my weight hovers around 205, I have trouble staying warm. If it's 70 with a cool breeze and I'm in the shade, I will be looking for a long sleeve shirt.
I don't think I will move anywhere that has extended periods of extreme, cold. Read as 30-40's', remember, I'm a red neck in Texas!!

The last year I lived in the 'Burgh back in the 70s the whole month of January it never went above 20 and snowed every day from Christmas to Feb. in fact the weather was what made us decide to move south.

I was incredulous to the weight, not being able to take the cold.

This is a site for learning........Incredulous - unwilling or unable to believe something.......had to look that up. 😳
Texas and cold...... I see where that could be unbelievable!!
By the way, can you keep to 3 syllable words??? I can't learn too much at once!

Cooled down a bit now. It is 74. Today I decided to forego working on the Mustang brakes and go for a sunny cruise in the BMW convertible. Only problem is... the top quit working. It would not go down. It worked fine before I took the car in to the dealer to get the non-functional third brake light repaired. JUST GOT IT BACK FROM THAT LAST WEEK. That, along with two trips to the dealer to repair a warm anti-freeze smell when the ac or heat is on. After a new water pump and a second return visit, it still smells. Those of us who own old Mustangs know that smell when a heater core is leaking. The dealer says it holds pressure and is not losing coolant, so there cannot be a leak. I think the leak has been determined to be in my wallet. You guys already advised of the wisdom of buying that thing. Now, reality is settling in.
I think a classic Mustang convertible is on the horizon.

Yea, they like to be "touched".
Well....on Sheryl's 325 convertible, the top wouldn't go up. Turns out the motor housings for the lock mechanism s on each side of the windshield had cracked over time. With the cracks came a pop and the drives jumped time and the computer lost the position. About $2500 later, the stealership said it was fixed. I was testing he top after repairs and it stopped mid travel on the first test run. It took about another 1/2 hour and no additional charge to get it figured out. Worked well after that.
Now the car has other issues, it's been waiting for its turn to be touched again.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
