What kind of primer to use...

What kind of primer do I use after welding on a new part. I am going to be painting it later. Does it matter if it is on the interior or exterior?

Re: What kind of primer to use...

Hey Joe, I have replaced alot of sheetmetal on my new Mach 1 project and only used  a 2K or epoxy primer...Eastwood has a rattle can 2K which is helpful for small jobs. You need to be down to the bare metal before applying primer. Some 2k and most all Epoxy primer can be bondoe'd over by first scuffing it, Clean all areas first with a wax/surface cleaner before priming...Use resperator mask when working with any of these materials and keep the resperator in a large baggy when not used to prolong its life.....jj

Re: What kind of primer to use...

Thank you, do you apply the epoxy primer with a spray gun? If so what kind do you recommend?
