Hey Gaba!!!!! Read this.............

This article pretty much explains just how to re-curve your Duraspark dizzy.
I would add......before you start find true TDC with a piston stop.....then install a timing tape attaching it where TDC is on your balancer.
You will need to buy some light weight springs (cheap!) in addition to the tape.
I prefer to pull the distrib and work on it in a bench vise with plenty of light and a clean area if some spring/clip/screw decides to become airborne. (Don't ask me how I know this) BUTT...it can be accomplished with distrib still in the car( with a flashlight at night in 30 degree weather in a driveway) Like I said earlier....don't axe.
You will be "dumbfounded" how much better it will perform!  Just know you should use hi-test-fuel

This link is where I learned more about mechanical and vacuum advance . Especially how they work together. Thanks for history lesson Mike. Wish this was available back in the day when I swapped out worn out points dizzy with Duraspark...would of made life easier too.

Hey Thanks! was wondering I didnt hear back form you on text.. LOL I am glad you posted it here

Great thing is .. already done the TDC test ,and already have a tape on it.. Also already have the spring kit I bought 6 years ago LOL .. so I have everything but the knowledge.. LOL The kit came with a bushing too .. so lets c.
I will start this work soon, my throttle response could use help!


If it aint broke, I have'nt tried to "Fix" it yet!
