    Hope I don't need to pull

    The A/C box out from under the 67 dash. Gauge readings are normal, and says it's working.  Today the best is 60 degrees out the vents, where as it would spit ice chips out, a few years ago. Replaced the evap. valve and filter dryer, and checked the condenser for blockage. There better be a mouse nest hiding inside, blocking things. 

     I'm going to need more than Keystone Lite's, if there not

    Hey Red, glad to hear that you're back at it on the old cars! I missed seeing them at the Clinton Bash.  I would hope for a mouse nest, too.  We got our 75 Olds back on the road this summer after a 2 year hiatus.  Mouse nests galore.  A/C hasn't worked in 20 years on that one, but not really needed in the North Woods.  Keep us posted if the Keystone Lights do the trick.

    Sounds simple, but did you check the refrigerant charge?  Is it still R-12 or has it been converted to R-134a?

    Well.......it cost me 80 bux to find out I had put tooo much freon(freeze-on if your from Alabama!) in my unit!!
    (S-10 parts chaser)
    Stuffs gotta change state to absorb heat.

    And R-12 and R-134a have different charge weights, which was why I asked about which refrigerant was being used.

    The 67 always had a slow Freon leak. So this time I drained and pulled a vac. for several hours and used R290 (propane) not R134. Gauge readings said its working and the suction line is cold, but no cold air. Check the box to be sure the doors are working. Decided that maybe it doesn't  like R290. So back to R134 and still no work.
    Noticed a little oil weeping yesterday around condenser drier fitting. Get the wrench out and strip the treads and now I need new condenser.
    So again I'm asking myself. Do I like A/C and do I like working on these old cars that much?

    Not sure about the compatibility of propane with these systems.  Also not sure about refrigerant oil for propane vs. R134a.  R-12 and R-134a use different oils which are incompatible. 

    What compressor are you using?
