1968 fastback rims and tires

I would like to know if I put 17 on the rear in order to get the deepest rim what back spacing do I use to get the best look  with not going outside of quarter panel  quarters were rolled

The problem is that what works for one guys car might not work for another.  These cars are over 50 years old at this point.  The tolerance on the Ford assembly line was much larger than it is today.  Then you factor in body damage and repair over the years and it gets even worse.

On my '67 on the rear I run a 17x9 with a 275/40R17 tire on it with 5.5" backspacing.  They rub a little bit on hard corners, but my wheel lips are not rolled.
