Received my new NPD rear bumper today

Surprise!  It has some curvature built in like an original.

But there are visible sanding marks under the chrome on the lower half.  Top looks good.  Will report back once I install it to see how the ends fit the car shape.  Too bad about the sanding marks.  I give it a 5 out of ten because of the lower half's chrome.  It does not provide a smooth reflection as it should.   Hopefully that is not noticeable on the car.

Re: Received my new NPD rear bumper today

I have never seen repop chrome bumpers that were quality pieces. most are "flash chromed" , thats why rechroming originals  costs 10 times more than complete aftermarket offerings.
Proper chroming process involves polishing the bare steel bumper, copper plating, polishing again till flawless, nickle plating and the the final chrome.
I have repops front and rear and hate them, shoulda kept the originals and got them rechromed.

Re: Received my new NPD rear bumper today

I kept my originals and had them re-chromed. It was about $375 a bumper and $50 for the bumperette’s!! If that a word from a guy local here in Houston. Got a tour of the shop, they deal with some harsh chemicals.

Thats a bargain, here in Canada the price is 800 plus tx for 68 bumpers.

Give NPD a call and discuss it with them.  They are really good about standing behind the stuff they sell.
