Old Texas Retired Guys RULE

I went to college with George. And to keep this Mustang related, I drove a grabber blue 70 Boss 302 at the time.

Are all his exes still in Texas?   Love that song!  Came out in 1987 when I was stationed in fort hood TX.  I did leave some there...LOL

One of my fondest bash memories was driving to the 2016 bash.  Listening to George on cd, reaching Amarillo by morning, true to the song stopping at the Cadillac ranch with the song playing.  My daughter didn't "get it" at the time, but she does now.

A voice from the far north asks "Who's George Strait?"

I've heard the name, but I'm not much into Country and Western music. More into classic Rock and Roll and Jazz. And really NOT into what is commonly referred to as "music" nowadays. My two granddaughters - almost five and almost three - can sing along to some Taylor Swift songs....thanks to their mom..... I sang bass in high school and college and for many years in an adult choir. One my favorite memories was our choir singing backup on the Brothers Four 50th Anniversary album.

Is that a soul or R&B group, Ron?

Neither. American Folk songs. https://brothersfour.com/ Our group actually did four concerts with them over the years.
I'll take a look on youtube for something from George Strait.

What, a pretty good copy? IMO their cover is better than George's. And I love me some George Strait.

While listening to my playlist today on Alexa, this George Strait classic played. No idea how I forgot to mention this great time. Top 3 of his songs IMO.

Thanks for the introduction to George's music. It is okay, if you were raised on C&W music, but my listening tastes tend more toward Rock & Roll and contemporary jazz, I guess. Most anything by Pat Metheny or the Pat Metheny Group is one artist I really like. He's been around quite a while, but his stuff is great. "Different strokes for different folks".

UR right about that Ron...Different strokes...yada-yada-yada.
I had to  'develop-a-taste' for country music kinda.
My era was all about Motown and early rock&roll (Elvis etc)
Like drinking scotch I guess.....nobody likes the taste of scotch the first time ! (ask Tubo)
But now...a nice single malt puts a smile on my mug like...Toby Keith usta.
