My Uncle's square body chevy has two stuck locking gas caps.  I haven't actually looked at the caps... been a little laid up  but it sounds to me like the internal mechnisem is frozen so I don't even know if drilling it out will work.  Got any other techniques to pull one of these caps without out damaging the filler neck, don't care about saving the cap.

If it isn't broken...modify it anyway! http://www.DazeCars.com https://galaxieforum.boardhost.com

First thought was 'break-out-the-angle-grinder' BUTT......gas fumes/gas tank nearby makes me re-think that thought...
Any way to get on it with some type of spanner wrench ?
Maybe hammer & chisel.(get primitive with it ! )

The answer is on youtube.   I had to remove one, I knocked the center locking mechanism out, and it losened it up enough it just turned out, so I didn't have to do step two.   It's very easy to bypass them.

I'm glad you are back home and feeling better.   Lay low for a while and get yourself healed up!

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

If they are the kind that the outer "cap" rotates freely until the key is turned, just drill a hole a little off center deep enough to go into the mechanism, put a rod in it and turn.
