I just gave up after spending thirty minutes

Trying to change the clock for new time setting on the radio in my 66.  It is a Pioneer single Din. Yes, the dash is cut. I never could figure out how to reset the damned clock. I gave up.  I know it is not that hard to do. I have reset it twice every year since it has been in there. I just can’t figure it out this time.    Too many tiny buttons and menus, etc.  I am thinking of buying a new radio that has a 7” removable touch screen that works off my I-Phone. That way my gps works on the screen and it actually has a radio that looks like I could get it to work, plus phone bluetooth, which I have never been able to get that radio to connect to.
Looking at one made by BOSS.  Looks are not to my liking in a classic, but, at this point, actual functionality would be nice. And Sirius Radio off the phone would be nice.
In the meantime, I just have to subtract an hour from the radio’s clock readout to know what time it is. And I won’t have to reset it next summer.

Don’t need a stinkin’ clock, you’re retired. 😁

I just need to know when it's dinner time, though.

Out of curiosity, post the model you're considering.

Also, Standard Time only last 19 weeks.  Savings Time will be back near the end of winter which will be here before we realize it.  At least for me, time flies.

I just swapped the stock double din radio in my '01 Ranger for a 7" LCD radio with Android Auto/Apple Carplay, reverse camera, bluetooth, etc, etc.  Love it, and it was one of the more reasonably priced units, just over $200 with the install kit which you won't need.  I
I've had a Retro  II in the Heap since '15 and while others have complained about the Retro, I've been pretty happy with it.  I bought it for the BlueTooth which, with my crappy hearing, I absolutely have to have if only for the phone.
The new unit in the Ranger has simple menus for setup, etc. and you don't need to make the time change cause it grabs it from your phone when it connects...or, at least mine did.
Hate to see the cut dash but it sure is nice to have the GPS displayed on the dash and the driving instructions coming through the speakers....just like a modern car.

The way people swap metal these days in the old mustangs, a cut dash can be readily repaired in the future if so desired.  With that in mind, if the single din cut serves your purpose, then it is perfect.  A single din opening provides you with a world of available head units.

I suggest Googling your setting the clock issue for the Pioneer radio.  Many times, I’ve quickly found help by Googling the issue I’m having.
For a new radio, I’ve used Crutchfield for the past 30 years or more and always found them helpful.  I have an inexpensive Jenson Din1 radio (under $100), I bought during the pandemic, the model I wanted wasn’t available due to ‘supply chain’ issues, but found this Jenson radio has all the features I needed.

I'm still trying to figure out that fancy-arse radio in the Jeep.  You can control everything with that touchscreen.   I got the basic parts down (basically what I need) but my kid gets in there and Bing, bing, bing Bing bing, and changes everything in about ten seconds.   But I do love the huge  backup screen and the map.  I used to love the Garmin I used on the dash years ago, and I don't really like it in the phone.  It's downright convenient right there in that 8" screen!

This technology is either gonna save us all, or destroy us.

I remember fancying a single din that had a screen that was retractable.  It folded away.  I don't remember the brand, but I do remember wanting it for the old cars.

I can't ever remember how to do the time change on mine but I  keep the instructions that came with it in the glove box.

I wear a wrist watch, the time read out on the Custom Autosound radio is way too small to read from the driver seat.

I have a single din mounted in a modified center console on my '65 but I wanted nav and some other features so I got a portable unit with a 7" screen that I can move from car to car.  It attaches with a suction cup and plugs into the lighter.  basically it has 2 bluetooth connections, one to my car stereo and one to my phone, it allows me to use android auto (or apple if that's your thing) wirelessly and plays everything through the car stereo.  It's a slick little setup and was fairly cheap, I  only have a screen in my car when I want it and I can move it between the herd.  It doesn't look like the one I got is available any more but it was similar to this:

Pickup an old stock radio and have it converted with the Aurora electronics. It adds am/fm, blue tooth, USB, 45w per channel instead of 3, and it can talk to you and you to it.
