I finally figured out where the burnt wiring smell in my 66 came from

I never smelled it once on the California trip. Because I never turned the radio on. Now that I spent thirty minutes trying to reset the clock, the smell is back, and NOTHING on the radio works, which kind of explains why I couldn’t get the clock set.
Appears it is fried inside. So, a new device will go in there soon. I am still trying to decide if I want the big 4” x 7” screen in front of my radio. Sure will look out of place, but the features will be nice.
Anybody found a good looking backup camera?  The screen has capability but the camera they sell looks like one of those Harbor Freight forehead miner’s lamps.

My backup camera mounts to the top edge of the license plate frame, and is mostly unseen. It provides pretty good coverage, but since it's insert a few inches it does not get all the way out to the outer corners.

Got a link to one of those?

Is that connected to your phone?

Nope, it's on the stereo screen in the dash Steve.

I have a backup camera I bought ages ago and never used.  I also have a small screen monitor.  I connected it all up and it works.  The little monitor has 2 input channels, both of which show the backing up guidelines.  The LCD monitor screen is about 4-3/8" diagonally and has provision for a ball mount on the back.

I don't remember what I paid for it but if you're interested, let me know by PM or email.  I'm sure we can work out something.

Cheers

I have that same one on my truck.  I would opt for something with a larger screen
