I have a 9” out of a 57 Galaxie. I have had it narrowed 1.75” off each side. I have a trac loc for 28 spline axels. The housing has the small bearing ends on it. Do you think i can find cut to length axels for this? Nope....any suggestions? And I am running 4 wheel disc brakes. Thank you in advance for any help.

A little late now but you might have been better off to use the Explorer 8.8. Nearly as strong as the 9", much cheaper to obtain, easy to setup, easy to get with trac-Loc and a suitable gear ratio, 31 spline axles, and once narrowed is 1/2" narrower than the stock 65 8" and uses two standard explorer right side axles, and you get the disc brakes to boot. Or you can use the 9" tube ends and do away with the "C" clips if racing.

You’re going to have to get custom made axles made. Now if you had a 31 spline carrier, Curry makes 31 spline axles in varying lengths with extra long splines which allows you to cut the splined end down at home with a cut off saw to the desired length savoring you $$$

The diff has all been rebuilt and I have the brakes for this 9” so no turning back now. Just having trouble locating the correct axels.

I had narrowed the 9" for our 67. It worked out just as cheap for customs as having the axles reworked. The customs were a stronger alloy, so I just stayed with 28 spline. Cost was around $400 with new bearings and bearing plate. Had someone name Michell differential (If my memory working right today). Told him what I did, and he knew what to do.

Moser will do custom axles fairly cheap. The set I had built for my Camaro years back cost me all of $250 I believe. This was 15 years ago though, so I'd bet its gone up a bit. Typically the blanks are already made, so the "custom" part of it it just cutting them to length and splining them.

I purchased Moser axles in 2010, don't remember the cost but check out thier website, I believe prices are included. They were also very helpful on the phone.
