Curious as to what issues you had to make the change. The smaller rad looks to be a cross flow,sposed to be very efficient.

I was under the impression that the radiator fit center in the vehicle with equal distance on both side of the core support. with all fins exposed. I got beat up trying to make that work and couldn't figure out how other got the battery tray in there.
It does not sit center in the vehicle its about .5 to .75" to the DS and not all fins on the DS are exposed.

I probably should have scoured this site before I did mine. Definitely a couple things I would have done differently. Likely the upper/lower mount vs the side standoffs, using an OEM appearing version over the CheapBay squared off tank version I have and finding a workable shroud vs. fabbing one out of an old electric fan setup. Wasted a fair bit of time here and there.
These battles have all been fought and won many times over. No need to do every darn thing the hard way.

Like Dan, I chose to use an original size radiator. I wanted to use the original 2 speed fan from the 95 donor so the ECU could control it. I also used standoffs, used them to mount the overflow, trimmed the shroud to fit.
That sucker is thick! Even with the 1 1/2" shorter water pump, I still had to stand the radiator up straight.
