School me. Rear sump pan isnt going to work for what I need. Are there any differences in years on 351 oil pans when it hits that magic year of 82?

F150 mid 90 had mid sump.

So there is no difference in the pans. Just the gasket changed? I can put . On a front sump pan with the proper pickup tube off any years blocks? The craigslist 351 on my garage floor has a rear sump, but it also has a small sump in the front, and two drain plugs. I do not know the year of the block atm, but it's carburated, and has duraspark, I'm thinking it's early 80s

Sounds like a F-series or Bronco oil pan. I had one years ago I sold to a guy for a late model Mustang swap. I believe that pan fits the Fox and SN95 cars with the K-member style front end. It won't work for a first gen car though.

I believe you are correct, the main thing is to make sure (like you mentioned) use the proper pickup. I swapped the single sump pan in my Lightning over to a dual sump Mustang 351w Moroso pan with no issues. If you have the room get a Fumoto drain valve, I love mine!
Here's a site with a lot of different pans to look at, maybe you can find what you need.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
