I would imagine caliper to wheel clearance would be critical with that setup. I have an 06 and the caliper looks like it sticks out farther than the axle flange.

Check the flexplate to see if the weight fell off of it. As far as the dampner goes, even if some of the rubber is missing but it has not turned it will still cause a vibration.

I have a small bearing 9" in my 64 Galaxie and I was looking at the rear brake brackets for use with the 2005-2009 GT calipers. What year of Mustang are the 11.75" rotors from?
