Also have,
68' Bonnie
Someone started to make a bobber, but didnt do a very good job on the fab work,
Has a lot of good parts, but is a project.
65' Tiger 650
Bought this because it was different,
Its has a lot of customer work, chopper with a springer. Who ever did the fab didnt do the correct geometry on the front wheel. Its heavy, but it can be fixed. Never even tried to start it. it has good parts too.

I probably have enough parts to build another bike.
frame, "amen" springer swing arm (rare)
mags, carbs, etc.

So help me help you on your new project...

50Vert,

The bobber is a 67' with a 71' 750 5spd.
Ard Mag, Mikuni' Carbs, Hi lift cams, straight pipes (loud) built for speed.
Rigged with springer front, vintage invader rims, vintage leather embossed seat.
Ill post some picture this weekend
Its a head turner,

Not the bike for a road trip, but really fun to run around the town.
O yea, right hand shift. It takes a little time to get use to that.

Guys,
Im excited to say MS fox body master/booster set up has fixed my issue.
Freakin awesome brakes now. I can drive it

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » MS Retro Brake booster and cyl set up » 8/17/2020 10:55 AM

Im the guy with the excessive pedal travel.
I decided to add disc to the rear and change over to the Fox body booster/ master you offer.
My question was on the proportion valve requirements.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » MS Retro Brake booster and cyl set up » 8/17/2020 7:55 AM

When upgrading to the MS fox Body booster set up, do you replace the old proportion valve or just add the adjustable to the system?

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/15/2020 8:39 AM

NOS 68,

It actually the opposite problem. I have damn near no pedal when running. Booster is pulling and holding the vacuum as it should.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/14/2020 9:59 AM

Not running, foot on pedal is firm like manual brakes. Start the car foot goes to the bottom (1" off floor)
Release foot, pedal comes back to the top (Normal position)
Press pedal again, goes to the bottom.
Release pedal, stop car,  press pedal, is firm again.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/14/2020 9:54 AM

Yes it returns
It feels like dead space for lack of a better description
There is no resistance until you hit about 1" off the floor. Brakes work at that point but i have not tried a hard brake yet. I don't think i will have much stopping power.
Its almost like i have too much vacuum.
I have a fox body set up also, i may try to install it this weekend and see if i get improvements.

That my punishment for buying part store Tiwinesse  parts!

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/13/2020 4:53 PM

Let me add that the pedal only travels 1 to 2 inches when not running and is setting where it should.
Only when vacuum (Engine running)is applied to the booster does the pedal travel 4 to 5 inches to about a 1" off the floor.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/13/2020 4:26 PM

Yes sir
There is a light drag when turning by hand

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/13/2020 11:10 AM

Dennis,
What will that do?
Im not familiar with it

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/12/2020 7:48 PM

So the information i provided is wrong. I guess i received the wrong booster and master when i order from the local parts house.
Now that ive discovered this, ill assume this is my issue.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/12/2020 7:41 PM

Well i have a conundrum!
After zooming on the tag on the booster, it is a A-1 reman 504005 which fits 82' to 86' V6 mustangs

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/12/2020 11:24 AM

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/12/2020 11:16 AM

LOL
Booster, master, and valve are new reman for 70' mustang w/ disc
Bore size i'm assuming is 1"

Funny you say just send it to ya. I told my neighbor he could have a running driving FB, the problem is you cant stop....
FYI:  Car was orginal KH disc brake car. At some point it was converted to granda brakes.
I have done the MS pedal repostion and replaced the stock small booster and master cyclinder with the 70' mustang setup. now im here with issues.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/12/2020 10:28 AM

Thought there was some sort of trickery i was going to learn.
But yes all of the normal, common brain farts have been checked and re checked.
Im thinking (after some advice) brake pedal adjust rod may be the culprit. I will soon find out.

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/12/2020 5:38 AM

Bench Bleed a booster?
Thats a new one on me. Please explain..

FYI Ford, Classic Mustang Tech Discussion » 65 FB Brake Pedal issues » 8/11/2020 7:08 PM

65' FB 289 4bbl auto
Reman 70' Disc brakes on front , rebuilt stock drums on back
Reman 70' Booster, master, and proportioning valve
MS pedal reposition kit .Everything replaced from the booster to rear brake hdw kits

three or four quarts of brake fluid, pedal pump brake bleed, vacuum brake bleed, gravity brake bleed.
Pedal is good and firm when not running. Start the car pedal drops 3 to 4 inches, stops about 1" from the floor with fair brake response.

Someone help please

Board footera
