Reassembly checklist???

I am working on re-assembling my 66 coupe.  It was completely dis-assembled and I am finding myself chasing my tail as I go through the reassembly process.  I could really benefit from a detailed checklist that gives a recommended order in which to reassemble.  Anybody got something like that to share?

Re: Reassembly checklist???

1) BEER

2) BEER

3) more BEER

I'm from Wheeling but live in Texas,, to bad your wern't down here.  If you have enough beer 10 of us will show up and put that puppy together in a day.

Really I would start out with replacing all the wiring.  YES new stuff only

Do all the mechanics next with fenders off if possible.

Body prep and paint  I prefer to do all mechanics before paint,, it limits scratch's

Install all trim lights ect

then interior

Others will have different ideas

Re: Reassembly checklist???

To the best of my knowledge, there is no reassembly manual. This is one of those deals where you must realize that this is your hobby and you now need to figure it out.  Sometimes, laying under the car on a creeper (or the biggest advantage of owning  lift is you can SIT under your car with a BEER) and just thinking things through is the best route.

I have no idea what stage of disassembly your car is in.  Is it already painted?  Is the engine done?  Is everything new, in boxes, just waiting to be reassembled on your spotless garage floor?  Or are the jackstands sinking into the dirt?

Best thing is, there is a group of experienced and pre-experienced people on FYIFORD that are willing to help you.  Just be smart enough to ask the question before you perform the mistake.  That is all I can really advise.  When you get ready to do a particular task, just ask... WHAT CAN GO WRONG WITH THIS?  You will quickly learn that knowing to ask that question is much more i mportant than simply asking HOW DO I DO THIS?

I did not learn all this stuff by doing things right the first time, in most cases.  Learn from others, and don't be afraid to ask seemingly simple questions.
