    MSD8350 distributor on a 1970 Mach1 351 C

    I put this on my Mach 1 and now the air cleaner and wont fit down over it as it is too high.  Whar distributer should I be using?

    You may have to try different plug wires and see how the fit is then, I don’t think it’s the distributors problem.

    I think either an 8" air cleaner (please don't use one of those ugly-a$$  Edelbroke triangle shaped ones!) or a BFH alteration on your stock one!
    Seriously..........IF you have a welder you could cut out the indented part and remove a section from the air cleaner and then re-weld the indented part back in.  Might need to go with a smaller diameter filter to make it all work.
    Some grinder work...some body filler....and early Ford Blue spray paint and UR back in business

    Agree with Rudi, but suggest removing the plug wires and see if, or how much, space exists between the top of the cap posts and the air cleaner base.  That will conform whether it is the MSD plug wires or distributor cap. 
     

    65 Fastback, 351W, 5-speed, 4 wheel discs, 9" rear,  R&C Front End.

    I have a 1" spacer under my Edelbrock carb, and the air cleaner fits. The hood clearance is close, but doesn't touch.

    68 coupe - 351W, 4R70W, 9" 3.25 -- 65 convertible - 289 4v, C4, 8" 3.00

    Pretty sure that's a ram air set up he's using. Don't believe he'd willing to cut it, or use another air cleaner.

    Maybe an original type dissy with a pertronix conversion, or a Duraspark with a small cap. I think you can use MSD stuff to run a Duraspark with just an adapter cable.
