Thank all you guys for your service. I did not serve, but come from a Navy family (both grandfathers during WWII one flew a Curtis SOC off the USS Savannah the other trained pilots in Pensacola to fly the SBD). My wife's family is also a Navy family (father-in-law was on a sub during the Cold War then worked for the DOD).

No Mike, I wasn't a shooter. I was what the shooter shot...... the shooter being the cat officer who signaled for the cat operator to fire the cat after the pilot salutes to signal he is ready for the cat shot. 0 to 150 in 1.8 seconds - quite a ride!Ron68.........were you ever a "Shooter"?! I also did not serve and would like to thank you all for your service. I came from a USAF family, my father was a pilot in WWII and several uncles and cousins were USAF members.

About the same time my father-in-law was stationed at the Portsmouth Naval Yard. They live in Maine, but they are like 5 minutes from Portsmouth. Small world!
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
