Nice work on the swing away bar. I miss having the option of machining all the parts I need.

I'm grateful to have a lathe and mill at the house, as they are a lifesaver. Mine are the small, manual type, but do everything I need. I have turned the axle bearing flanges on my 9 inch housing, which was tricky for a beginner. I was fortunate years ago when my brother bought a mill but had no room for it, and axed if I could store it at my place. Duh...

I've thought about it for a while and still can't figure out who or what Victor is. Throw me a bone.

Hmm... took the red hot rod across town for a 50 mile cruise today to see a buddy who's got a 69 sportsroof, 56 F100 and a few other cool cars in his home shop. No vibration felt during the entire trip. Let's see how long this lasts.

Gott's-to-have-more-than-that, Man!
Was the speedo accurate?
What was your tach reading in OD compared to before?
Top speed?
How did it shift?
How was the "gear spacing"?
Did it burn rubber in first & SECOND?
How was the 'torque' in second and third gear?
What DID the 'Victor' do when you went to the OD gear?
Nosey-old-men wants ta know!!!

We gotta get you a hobby Sal.
Was the speedo accurate?
Yes it is, confirmed with GPS.
What was your tach reading in OD compared to before?
The final drive ratio now is 2.60, I had 2.50 gears with the FMX. ~2,500 rpm @ 80mph now, vs ~2,300 rpm with the FMX.
Top speed?
Today was 100 mph.
How did it shift?
It shifts just fine. Although twice so far I've forgotten I have a stick and tried to start it without pushing in the clutch.
How was the "gear spacing"?
It's not optimal, but probably something I can live with. First to second is fine, second to third is a jump but with the torque available it pulls well.
Did it burn rubber in first & SECOND?
Haven't tried. New clutch instructions said to take it easy at first. Which made me think, do new cars come with these break in instructions?
How was the 'torque' in second and third gear?
Much better than I'd thought. I can take off in second without issue. When in third, 1:1, I can slow to 30 and accelerate just fine.
What DID the 'Victor' do when you went to the OD gear?
I still don't get the Victor.
