Spun the oil pump the other day, came right up to 65 lbs. Within a few seconds had oil to all gt the rockers. Continued for another 30 seconds or so and called it good.
Set the engine in and bolted it down, next day put the trans in from the bottom. As of today starter is in, shift linkage is good, driveshaft, parking brake, and exhaust system is in. If all goes well I might lite it off next weekend.
Sal says without pix it didn't happen, so.....

Dam Bob looking good, glad to see it getting back!

Ya really got those pipes tucked up there! I see ya found an AODE pan.
Have you got a bell crank in the shifter linkage?
I'm usually happy with my work ... then I see yours ... so much betterer.

That is cleaner than a Safeway chicken. Nice work Bob.

Yes, Barry, I have a bell crank in the linkage. Wasn't necessary with the AOD but the 4R70W selector is back just far enough that the "UP" lever wanted to get into the floor. So I used the "Down" selector lever and added the bellcrank. Seems to work okay.
Found the AODE pan after I hacked on a 4R70W pan. Much happier with it now.
The pipes are still a bit lower than stock but way better than before. Right now the low point is the flanges on the bell connectors. Haven't decided yet on a crossover.
Thanks for the kind woids, guys. With luck it mike make some noise in a couple of days.

Thanks again, Guys, butt (TS&T) let's not get too carried away 'til we see if all my welding stays glued together. Maybe after a Bash trip or two we'll know better. I got some Por-15 exhaust paint in rattle-cans for the exhaust. I've had their brush-on on the manifolds for 15 years....love it.

Those welds would pass "visual" all-day-long! Nice work.
(Looks a lot like a Hot Rod Maga lay-out!)
Typical west coast hot rod pictures from the 60's stuff!!

I had no idea Safeway chickens were not clean. It is obvious that BB does not drive his Stang on muddy forest service roads like I have been known to do.

BB - Very nicely done ...as usual!

Looking good. Can’t wait to get to that point myself.

I did have my shifter functioning well with a cable, but wasn't happy with the surplus cable. This is my attempt at a bell crank. I guess form follows function and yours looks similar?

Very similar Barry. My bellcrank is on the boss just behind the bell housing which I think was used for the column lever cars. It just looked like it would be too tight to use one of the cable shifter bosses at the rear....guess not. Oh yeah, you moved the transmission support in the tunnel to the rear, didn't you. That'll make a difference.

Yes I did Bob, you've got a better memory than me. It gave me more pipe clearance, and allowed me to use the factory crossmember.
Lots'a ways to skin a cat.

Well...getting closer. I've had coolant in it for a week with no bad signs. Today I poured five gallons of fuel in it and adjusted the Gas Gauge and dialed in the "Walt Sinsley Low Fuel Warning Module". I finished the base calibration of the EEC-IV/Moates Quarter Horse last night and ran the Key On/Engine Off test today. Showed that the electric fans aren't hooked up (none installed) and gave me a Code 111....System Pass. everybody happy. Then I pressured up the fuel system with no leaks....WOOHOO!
Got other stuff to do tomorrow but my friend is coming over Monday morning and we'll move it out of the shop and see if it'll run......
More to come.

Great news Bob!
You can tell the the ECU that the fan is not present in the tune.
CBAZA cars all had e-fans, so it's turned on by default.

That's what I'm looking for now, Barry. The base calibration I'm using is from Decipha and he has most everything disabled which is okay with me except CANP. I use CANP in the Heap so I want to turn it back on...and turn off the fans although that's not a big deal.

WooHoo...found them Barry. CANP is not disabled in this calibration and there's FLAG labeled "Electro Drive Fan Present". Just un-set that and they are gone. That was way easier than I thunk it would be. I just found the the EGR and Thermactor FLAGS. Decipha made this pretty easy to enable/disable these systems. I'm really impressed. The more I mess with this the more confidence I have that I MIGHT be able to make it work.
