IT SEEMS TO BE RIDING TOO HIGH IT USE TO RIDE LEVEL WITH FENDER LIP NOW ITS 2 INCHES HIGHER. I HAD THEM LOOSEN THE SHACKLE BOLTS AND FRONT SPRING BOLTS AND SPRAYED WD40 ALL BETWEEN THE LEAFS BOUNCED IT AROUND AND DROVE IT HOME JUST A COUPLE MILES GONNA LET IT SET TILL THIS WEEKEND AND TIGHTEN EVERY THING BACK UP.
DWAYNE SAID HE HAD TO REALLY STRAIN TO GET THE BILSTEIN SHOCKS ON ....MY QUESTION IS WOULD THOSE SHOCKS HOLD THE CAR UP AND MAKE HAVE THAT RIDE HEIGHT OR IS IT GONNA BE THE SPRINGS.
i TOOK THE OLD SPRINGS AND 2 INCH LOWERING BLOCKS OFF THINKING PUTTING THE REVERSE EYE SPRINGS THAT ADVERTISE THEY WILL BE 2 INCHES LOWER...I MEAN DANG THAT MEANS IF I GOT REGULAR EYE SPRING IT WOULD BE REALLY HIGH....IT IS DRIVING ME NUTS. I HOPE IT SETTLES 2 INCHES.

If you suspect the shocks you can always disconnect them and see if the height changes, but I think its just new springs. You're going to have to drive it to get them to settle. I just put new leafs in my truck and it sat a bit higher in the rear. After a week of driving daily its about level again.

LOL I DONT THINK MY WIFE WOULD CARE FOR ME TO DRIVE THEM AROUND.

Drive on over to the local Lane Bryant store....pickup a couple of plus sized heffers...put em in the back seat and take em for a cruise...multiple passes on streets with speed bumps will do the trick.....by the time you drop em off the springs will be puurrfecccttt......report back...
LOL!

I have 4.5 reverse eye springs I installed a couple of years ago. Mine sat high too. I ended putting a 1" lower block in. Made it better.

MY WHOLE PURPOSE WAS TO GET RID OF THE 2 INCH LOWERING BLOCKS. THESE SPRINGS WERE SUPPOSED TO LOWER CAR 2 INCHES LOWER THAN STOCK....I WOULD HATE TO SEE IF THEY WERE STANDARD EYE.

IT SEEMS TO BE SITTING A LITTLE LOWER THIS EVENING
I MAY DRIVE IT UP THE ROAD AGAIN

Whoa... yeah a bit high. I'm not convinced that the springs will sag to what you are hoping?
Did you have a side picture of the car showing the entire length of the car?
Offline
What brand spring did you purchase? I had those same wheels on my old 66 fastback.
Offline
Did you tighten all spring hardware while still up on jack stands?
Have any pictures of spring ends while mounted?
What version of shocks?

since the wife will frown on the passengers. Try this, go to HD and buy 6 bags of cement. Drive for a few days with them in the trunk and then just take them back.

I HAD THOUGHT ABOUT LAYING A BLANKET IN TRUNK AND STACKING THESE SOLID LAND SCAPING BLOCKS I HAVE SEVERAL HUNDRED OF THEM I COULD SEVERAL IN IT TILL I GOT TO THE DESIRED RIDE HEIGHT FOR A FEW DAYS AND THEN TIGHTENING THE BOLTS UP .

I was researching their springs and decided against them because others had mentioned it was hit or miss with getting things right.

Well... It would probably end up looking something like this. Probably not the look you are going for...

If you are saying that the rear fender arch lip was about level with the top of the tire, then this is quite a difference and you probably dropped your ice tea when you first saw it.
I am still not convinced that you can get a spring to sag that much? I'm happy to be wrong here, but maybe you need to have the springs reset by a blacksmith?

Remove the rear shocks and load the trunk with your landscape blocks. Drive it a few days and take a look.
If no joy..........take a measurement of the LENGTH of the main leaf(as best you can) and compare with your old ones.
IF the new ones are longer........it won't settle much. They coulda sent springs for later model (67-68)?
What do those little 10 year old chinamen know about sprangs??? Nuth'in!
