Distrobution Block Location help

So I was told the other day that my Distro Block location was not going to work because it was slightly above the MC. So now I have it mounted (temporarily) on the Frame Rail. I haven't rerouted the brake lines yet until I know where I can put this thing. Is there anything else I need to be aware of before I start forming more brak lines? Is this location going to work?
Thank you.

Ed

Re: Distrobution Block Location help

It should be on the apron between the shock tower and firewall, slightly below the master cylinder.

Re: Distrobution Block Location help

I would try to tighten up the lines under the master in a tight U and head for the area Rudi mentioned.  The current long length coming out towards the passenger side and the long loops will expose the lines to a lot more exhaust heat.  I've seen a few good pics on this site of this arrangement.  Some put a loop or two just before the junction block to allow for future repairs and this may allow for some line flex if the master moves up or down when you press on the pedal and the firewall slightly distorts.  Your detail work in the engine compartment looks great BTW!

Re: Distrobution Block Location help

Rudi I looked at attaching it on the apron, but there is just too much stuff happening right there, and I don't think I can make the tight bends needed in the lines. Plus everytime I drill a hole in my car I cry.

GPatrick, I was thinking of the pigtail curl in the line too. I always wondered what they were for. Thank you for the complement.

I just installed the steering column to see where that takes up space. I think I am going to stick with this locations. The rear brakes are almost a straight shot out the back with very little bending needed.
