Re: Junction City, KS, Oct 9 .... Another Mini-Bash planned

Arrived home this morning about 9:30 Pacific time after 4,334 miles driven. I went through 10 states and visited with a couple of buddies in northern Illinois and NE Iowa I haven't seen for a while. I had a couple of mechanical issues, lost the starter as I was trying to leave Roscoe Illinois. The starter was less than six months old. Had a coil go out as I was crossing the Mississippi River entering Iowa, and an ignition condenser go out as I was ascending the Vail Colorado summit. The coil and condenser were less than 2 months old.

I pulled a Wilkes and backed into a parked car while leaving a motel in Nebraska. Maybe I should get a backup camera... never mind.

Drove through 45 minutes of snow in Central Utah. Thankfully the snow never stuck to the road. That intermittent wiper upgrade has to be one of the best inventions.

Other than the crappy new parts failing,  the 69 ran great, and got 20 and 21 mpg on the two tanks of gas I checked. I had a great time visiting with all y'all, and can't wait till Huntsville 2022.

I'm off to take a timely nap.

Re: Junction City, KS, Oct 9 .... Another Mini-Bash planned

Glad you made it okay, BB2.  Once again it was great to spend some time with you and the gang.  Sorry about the various foibles you encountered but, 4334 miles...you gotta have something happen, I guess.  I'm especially sorry to hear about that parking lot misshap.  Just don't need those kind of troubles.
Enjoy your down-time, give our best to Molly.

Is that what they call a back handed compliment? Ya butt... I'm thinking I'm hearing some noise from the rear bearings after I found the rear wheels have 3° of negative camber 😳

Re: Junction City, KS, Oct 9 .... Another Mini-Bash planned

Points and condenser vs an ac condenser.

In this particular case, I find it very hard to believe, considering THERE IS PROBABLY NOT ONE OTHER ORIGINAL PART ON THAT CAR!!!

And no PROBABLY about the wheel bearings!
