What a great idea, rocker covers with screw driver shaped hold down fasteners.

Re: MTGW on steroids

Very nice looking engine set up and the garage would make Bob Villa proud.
Be careful though that the blue Fastback doesn't start getting jealous.

Re: MTGW on steroids

The filter came with all the parts I bought with the car.  Works great as a paint mask and for first startup, where it will get discarded after first hundred miles.

Looks like the water pump still has screws for a fan.  Am I seeing it wrong?

Re: MTGW on steroids

It has an adapter piece that bolts onto the four bolts and whatever length fan spacer is required bolts to that.

It's gonna take some hp to drive all those pulleys...you must have lots to spare.

Re: MTGW on steroids

That contraption should be used as a test question on the ASVAB.  "Identify the rotation of pulleys "B"-"I" assuming that "A" is rotating clockwise"

Does the military still use the ASVAB?  Haven't heard that term since '65.

Re: MTGW on steroids

Hello MS,
I  have the same adapters under my valve covers for roller rocker clearance. I was going to silicon the  adapter to the head and then use allthread with acorn nuts and a gaskit between the valve covers. What are you going to use to try to keep the oil leakage off  a  clean engine?

Re: MTGW on steroids

I will be using 1/2” spacers, not the 1-3/8” spacers in the pictures. I will JBWeld the spacers to the valve covers and then blend the valve cover edges with the spacers so they appear as one piece. I did that on my 427 and on Al’s 408.  The valve cover flange and the top of the spacers get ground with 36 grit to make them really rough, leaving some gaps for the JBWeld to fill.

Re: MTGW on steroids

Doesn't that busy/shiny/tricked-out /blinged-up/chromed-out/ (pick one!)engine REALLY deserve a dual quad set-up?! (Or at least that tri-power set up you've been hoarding)
And.........forget sticking a hood on whateverrrr it goes in.......

Re: MTGW on steroids

3x2 is planned for the 331.  I MIGHT use the four barrel for initial run-in, just in case there are hood clearance issues.
But, the 3x2 Holley setup will eventually be on it.
