Mini bash, anyone? Bryan, Tx. January 9

This was alot of fun when we did it a few years ago. Anyone interested?

Luckey’s Rod Run in Bryan , Tx January 9, 2022

I see we can post a poll now but cannot post pictures again😩. EDIT Turns out, if someone forgets to pay the web host, picture hosting gets deleted. This was fixed on same day once noticed.

Re: Mini bash, anyone? Bryan, Tx. January 9

I'd be down for one, but the caveat is that Melody's grandfather may pass away in the next week or so so I may be going to a funeral.  If that doesn't happen then I have a previous arrangement on Jan 7-8, but I'll be available on the 9th.

I am thinking a motel is best for night of Jan 8.  Let me know if going and I will try to find a hotel.

Re: Mini bash, anyone? Bryan, Tx. January 9

So far, four have stated they definitely will go.
Remember, mini bash intention is to get you out there in your classic car and drive it!  Twenty five year or older car. We might have to give up on that “no wives” thing this time since it is a major show, not just the guys getting together.  Heck, the car show does not discriminate as to model year, so I guess we should not eliminate anyone due to the year of their Mustang.  Just don’t expect to get any appreciation if you show up in the Kia.  Maybe the whole mini-bash concept doesn’t apply here, but heck, “wherever three shall gather” does have more than a single application.  So, just come have some fun at the car show.

I will find a hotel for us, but feel free to book wherever you want.  Since the university is shut for the holidays, there are lots of cheap rooms, starting at $42.  I am thinking a little more upscale, but will let you know.

Luckey’s Rod Run has a facebook page where you can check out details. I spoke with the organizer. No covid mask rules this year. Entry is free. Just show up.

As for events for the group:
Go out to dinner Saturday night.
Breakfast Sunday early
Car show Sunday as early as we can get there
Lunch at the show (two restaurants at the venue)
Head home whenever you decide.

Re: Mini bash, anyone? Bryan, Tx. January 9

Wish I could be there.  Will be visiting the kids that weekend and then also it's that "snow on the pass" time of year.  No Heap driving in those conditions if possible.
Have a great time.

Re: Mini bash, anyone? Bryan, Tx. January 9

I am going to book a room at the Hampton Inn in College Station. It shows to still have several rooms available. I have never been to this show but this seems close to the event and is not a roach motel.
