Most know I’m not on much nor have I been working on my project much. I was able to paint the timing cover this past Sunday and tonight I took a break from studying to paint the oil pan.
Update on my buddy helping me with bodywork. It’s a go but we just can’t line our schedules up to get together and work.

No, it’s a Chrysler single stage black. Both parts were shot in epoxy primer prior to the color coat. Same goes for the engine block.

I’ve been following your adventure Billy.
Building a 66 coupe that was a rust bucket. New metal from the roof down. DSE mini tubs, Rob & Custom coil over MII front. Long story why I went that route. It wasn’t my first choice but it ended up being the best option for me with the deal I got on it. 351W stroked to 418 with a G force built T5.

Thanks for the great replies. I couldn’t stop laughing!
I have one more week of intense training and three exams. Then I’m on-call next weekend which means I can’t leave the house. I plan on working on the project all weekend between calls. Just for the record 99% of the calls I can address from my computer. So I’m hoping to make a dent in the project.

I thought you were taking dents out? 😜
Looks great

Not much to update. It's been a busy few weeks with work training. I was able to make the drive to my buddy's place this past Friday after work and pick up the air tools that we plan on using for body work. I had ordered some rebuild parts for them and got them rebuilt and working today. I had also picked up some paint supplies and misc. stuff we will need when we start on the body work.
Last weekend I worked on the timing chain cover and oil pan. They have been permanently installed. Harmonic balancer was prepped and painted today. I also installed it on the motor.
Hopefully this week I can get the intake powder coated. Once I get that done I can button up the motor for good. I will also try to order some steel to build a stand I can start the motor on. I hoping once i hear the motor fire up it will light a fire under me to get back to work on the project.

Is this a pure racing car?

No, it will be 99% street driven. I would like to take it to the track and see what it can do. I just want to build one with all the options and still have a killer street machine.

I put in a solid 13 hours of slinging and sanding bondo this weekend. It's coming along slowly. I am getting more of drive to get the body work finished. Hopeful I can have both sides of the car ready for epoxy in a couple of weeks. I will say the after market doors and quarter panels require some love. Well so did the old beat up ford fenders.
I should be picking up the intake from the powder coater this week. Once I get it, I can button up the engine. I will hopefully pull the trigger on the CVF setup this coming week. The saginaw pump should be enough for the hydroboost and just the right amount to not over assist the rack and pinion unit. I also need to put a parts list together for the 70 radiator swap so I can get started on it as well.
Did I mention my arms are not happy with all of the sanding. lol

Yeah, but you probably have no finger prints now either, so time to rob that bank...

Funny you mention that. I am having trouble with logging into my lap top with my finger print now. LOL
Today I start another two weeks of training from home. Yeah I know I am on this site during my training. It actually starts online at 10am. The last training course from home left me zero extra time to do anything. I'm hoping this time around isn't as hard as the last time. Maybe I can still get in a couple hours of sanding a few nights this week.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
