If anyone has any experience with a VINTAGE AIR system in a 65/66 Mustang, please let me know how you routed the driver side vent hose. There just doesn't seem to be a good way to do it.

NOBODY has a Vintage Air AC system?

Mine's (v)intage, but I don't think that would help you.

Never mind... I figured it out. This was one of those deals where, after several hours under the dash, a point of frustration was reached where nothing would fit. A good night's sleep took care of that and I got it in withing 10 minutes this morning. The duct has to be squeezed down nearly flat to go between the steering column and the pedal support, between the pedals and the dash lower edge. When istalled, it still has a really good air flow, so I guess all is OK.
There is no way their plastic glove box liner is going to fit without a lot of fighting, though.
I pulled a vacuum on the system and it held overnight. Now I just need to get some R-134a gauges and hoses so I can charge it up. Oh, and get the engine running first. Carpet going in today.

what kind of vacuum pump did you use? I still need to do my ac. I lput all new hoses, compresor seals, o ring seals, drier, etc, but havent filled it yet. I was going to rent the gauge from autozone but they dont have the vacuum pump.

My vacuum pump is an old compressor out of a refrigereator. I soldered some AC fittings to the intake side and mounted a switch on it with a long cord. I have ben using it for over 20 years now. I put a water separator on the output (pressure ) side of it to catch any oil that it tries to blow out.
It will pull to 30 in/hg in under 5 minutes and can run all night long without getting hot or making any noise.
Best thing... It was FREE at the city dump. I removed it from a refrigeratr someone was throwing out, using only a hammer to do so.

Your suggestion of a good night's sleep sounds pretty good! Good night!
OBTW my vacuum pump came out of the trash too, 20 years ago!
