Bullet Bob machined me this custom stud on his lathe which makes it possible to use this valve spring compressor on P heads, or any pedestal Ford head for that matter. And with spark plug air fittings, it can be done on the car. Very nice, much better than I can do p. I have not graduated to attempting to thread yet. Thank you! Isn't that impressive?! Full garage point

Thanks for the pic, Bob, I think of Ted every day. Still miss him so much. The folks who made it to our Bash in 2016 certainly got a taste of his fine work set out in the shop Saturday night.

Thanks Tom, had to do it twice to remember how to do single point threads. Good deal for everyone.

Nice job BB.
Always a nail biter single point threading up to a shoulder, although there are ways around it.🤞

Yup, Rudi. They tell you to run the machine in reverse and start at the relief butt (TS&T) with a screw-on chuck I get a bit nerval about that. I just turn a relief at the upper end and engage the back gear to run it real slow. Disengaging the split nut stops it just fine...no issues.

Yepp!! And the reason I wanted a stud over just welding two studs together (which I do believe I could have sucessfully done) was so it would be perfectly straight and not have any lean on one fork or the other.
Valve springs, strut springs, and such just ain't really a place you want to be playin.
Oh! My eye!

That's awesome he could make that for you.
