Clear coat my driveshaft

I was going to paint my driveshaft and after checking the fit this morning before work I realized how clean the bare steel looks and thought it would look good with just a clear coat sprayed on it.   Plus I only have to mix up one product to spray.  Lol

Re: Clear coat my driveshaft

When stuff is apart I tend to clean up and paint everything.  Some stuff I've started to powder coat, especially if I feel it needs additional rust protection.  I do this on most anything I work on if there's no time crunch getting it back together.  Why?  Simple, I don't get rid of vehicles.  The next time I got to work on it those parts and.or that area is going to be cleaner, not be rusty, and be more enjoyable to work on.  So, long story short, I would spray it.

Re: Clear coat my driveshaft

I'll post pictures after I clear coat it.

I have to respray the part that goes between the headlight buckets.  In my poor light garage I missed the edge right below where the trim mounts.  I covered it with the white base coat but didn't get enough red on that edge when I painted it.  I'll respray it and the driveshaft at the same time.

Re: Clear coat my driveshaft

It came that way shiny from where I bought it.  That's why I thought it would look good clear coated.
