A lot is involved in getting a bash put together.
I think Brian and Whitt did a great job this year for Bash 22.
Every year, a new opportunity arises for someone to help host a bash. A bash does not have to be a big expensive affair. Everyone in this group can have just as much fun with a smaller get-together. To me, the important thing was to see all our Mustang friends and to enjoy the fact this group is unique in that we feel it is important to drive our old cars to the bash. I have always been amazed and honored when so many of you show up driving your Ford, sometimes for great distances.
I have no input into finding a bash location any more, by choice and because I no longer own MustangSteve.
But, all of you have an opportunity to make a Bash happen. In my experience hosting them for twenty years, I learned a few things. The bashes held in smaller towns tend to be the most comfortable and we get to see the most interesting cars since the locals come out en-masse to participate. There has been a tendency in the last few years to really throw a big party by the host. That can get costly, but is not necessary to have a good time. At the Bako Bash, we ate at restaurants instead of someone hosting a big party. I thought that worked well.
Al that said, the requirements to be a bash host simply consist of finding a venue with a pavilion, in case it rains on bash day, finding restaurants that can hold a good number of people all at once, and handing out flyers or other promotions to let people know it will happen. I never expected a host to have to spend a nickel unless they just wanted to.
Now, the new owner of MustangSteve has provided ups with one if the best bashes ever. Since Brian is fairly new to this group, he may not have the connections that I have enjoyed since starting the forum in 1999. I would like to encourage you to consider possibly volunteering to host a bash. Some of you live in fantastic locations that would provide for a great bash destination, or even a challenging road trip for the group. Maybe not this year, but a future year would work for you. Heck, a bash doesn't even need to be in your town. To host only means you help arrange a venue and hotel and eateries somewhere.
Remember Wimberley, TX? There was no local host.
The success of this group and the important bash tradition depends on you.

Since I discovered your board, I've always wanted to attend a bash. So I hope it lives on. I think I'm too far South to a host a bash.

They have this Show every year in Hiawassee Georgia and if nothing else the Bash my could tag along with this Show could rent a booth displaying Mustangsteve.com products and Forum. It is a really nice place and lots of other stuff ro do around the area.

Or a Nice Beach Location sometimes peaks the Wifes interests into wanting to make the trip.

The bash was always to give back to the Mustang community. I never made any attempt to sell anything at bashes. I hope that is maintained, but it is not my decision.

I drove over 1700 miles for Shrimp Tacos at Las-Barcas in Canyon Lake 😁 before heading to the Vandalia Bash with others. Just a shakedown cruise.
Funny part, never turned on the radio entire trip.
The coolest part of the drive on the way down was between Abilene and Fredericksburg.
The moon was bright and it was DARK…and no traffic.

That drive between Abilene and Fredericksburg is a great road. We drove it twice last week. I only saw about ten other cars the entire way,
I was thinking it would make a great Mustang tour route.

When I saw a new post to this thread I was expecting to hear that the 2026 Bash location was gonna be announced. Wishful thinking I guess.

Same here! I assume Brian is working on it, and it takes time!

Not sure I would want to drive my Mustang any great distance. I would trailer my Mustang when I attend.

I thought we already straighted you out on this topic. 😁
