How do YOU search Craigslist?

I thought it would be neat to see everyone's strategies. CL is part of my everyday Internet activity, along with this forum of course

I have tried more complex searches, but I always feel like I might be missing something. Now I have just two main ones. 1st is simply Ford in all for sale by owner with pics and title checked. And then another with the same settings, but Mustang as the keyword.

What do you guys do?

Also here is the CL help section for setting up fancy searches.

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Re: How do YOU search Craigslist?

But how to search the entire US Craigslist network at one time?

I made enough money to buy Miami, but pissed it away so fast

Can be done with google.com using for example: "mustang parts" site:craigslist.org

By adding the "" around the words it will search for the exact phrase as entered between the "", if not using the "" it will search for both words and results where just one of the word can be found will be included in the search result. By adding site:craigslist.org in the end of the search term you will search all websites that has an URL that ends with craigslist.org which as I understands it would mean that you search all Craigs lists.

Re: How do YOU search Craigslist?

punch in a id number if you already know the ad

example go to craigs list and copy paste this number in   4290654586

note there might be ford torque thrust wheels on this.

Re: How do YOU search Craigslist?

Found this on craigslist today.   I obviously missed a misspelling.   The ad is a link to an ebay auction..not that its pertinent.

edit: ah what the heck.

In my case at least that generally leads to impulsive purchases

Re: How do YOU search Craigslist?

Greg, did you notice the Ebay ad for the car you linked has it listed as a C-code?

Re: How do YOU search Craigslist?

No I didnt notice that.  I just glanced at the ad after pondering should I?  (viruses)   Just goes to show you what people will post to draw traffic to a particular listing...........sad.

Re: How do YOU search Craigslist?

thats funny the craigslist add says its a K code.

Your right they will say anything to draw a sucker in!  One of my pet peeves in this hobby is people using terms they shouldnt like "FRAME OFF" and "NUMBERS MATCHING" when listing a 65 or 66 mustang.  I know what they mean but do they???

Re: How do YOU search Craigslist?

Funny thing is when I use searchtempest, it never shows my ads, (such as the c6 trans and gearvendors overdrive and join shocks for early mustangsteve and cougars),  and often displays expired posts......can be frustrating.

I know what a cougar is, but what's an "early mustangsteve"?
