How do you research selection of a part without abusing your forum?

When I'm searching for the "best" of any particular thing, I start digging through the forums, starting with this gang generally. More often than not, I get so much conflicting information I end up flipping a coin. For example, I'm searching for an EFI conversion wiring harness to take a 65 mustang to the '89 EFI setup. There are several, that based on the personal experience shared, would probably work well. Someone has opinions on fuse location, while someone else thinks the wires are a little short, and another thinks the connectors are shoddy. How do you get your bearings with such information swirling? When I learn this skill, I can bother the crowd less. :-)

Thanks!

Just pick the post and ask and then post any concerns that you might have.  The wealth of info can sometimes be conflicting but the people here are more than "just helpful" some will show up and help.  I have been known to show up at "Steve's" and "help" keep him on track. Wether he needs it or "NOT".
