Here's another one to drive you nuts just before your about to fall asleep. How do they decide which side of the car to have the single exhaust exit? Most new cars I can think of have them exit the passenger side. Is this for some safety reasons? Or is it simply cosmetic? Is the exhaust opposite the fuel filler? Now you'll all be driving around today looking at cars to see were the filler is relitive to the exhaust HA!
So the driver has less noise in his ear while driving.

Who cares..........look at the gas guage, note which side the "arrow" is pointing to, and pull up to the pump.....pretty simple these days.......(potential GEICO commercial in the making)

I never really thought about it until now. Something to ponder during existential thought sessions.
I have two cars right, one car left, and one car center. The car with the left filler throws me off sometimes.
Be sure your seat belt is tight.

I'm with Josh! I have 5 vehicles, that arrow is very important info!!

Now I'm really thinking about this. My '87 K5 has the filler on the RH side, but the '86 K20 I used to have had the fillers on the LH side. Come to think of it, every pickup I've ever had they were on the LH side. I'm going to check out some import pickups today and see if its the case with them too. Thinking of the rest of the fleet:
'67 Bronco - LH side
'76 CJ5 - rear RH side
'86 IROC - LH side
'17 Model TT - under the seat
'02 WRX - RH side
'89 Mustang - RH side

I now have a headach,, to much pondering.

The arrow is not the issue. The issue is I have to go against the flow of most people already at the station. And if I am the first one there, when others pull in, they block my exit!

I don't try to remember anymore... I just follow the instructions. I wonder if the pointer is a government requirement.
Right side. Left side....

OK, this experiment was a success.
Now, if everyone would respond to the technical questions as well as they do the nonsense questions, this forum would be popping !!!!!

Jerry, why is that triangle in the left picture pointing toward the left front fender...that gauge must be from an early VW.

I couldn't say Bob.. those are just a couple random pics that I found. That is a weird guage now that I look at it.

Why is the left picture on the right and the right picture on the left? Now I'm confused!

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
