Interesting, but I stopped reading after "Eco Boost V6". Sure, turbos, I get it, but its supposed to be a supercar, and last I checked Ferraris don't come with V6s. The "supercars" that come to mind that tried this were pretty lackluster (NSX, XJ220). The last GT was a world beater at a reasonable price. I'm thinking this one won't do as well. The bodywork is awesome looking though. It just needs a blown Coyote or maybe two V6s cast as a common block for a V12 with 4 turbos making more like 1,000HP. AWD and sub 3 second 0-60. HELLO!

I have to agree, TKO-P. I have an Eco-Booster and I love it. Butt, I drive it everyday and pull my trailer with it so I don't really care what it sounds like (under load, an old chevy baretta). But for some thing line that GT....I'm afraid I'd keep telling myself..."gee, I shoulda got a V8. "
But then, my opinion is moot.

Definitely for "younger-kids" that don't know what bad-a$$ horsepower is suppose to sound like.(ref. the "original" Gt's with the 427 BBF power). Now THAT,my friends, is what a supercar is suppose to look like...sound like...feel like.
When you get that ...un-comfortable stiffness(or whatever!) when a big block is idling...THAT is a supercar!!

PS..........I still want one of these though!!!!!!!

I configured one that was flat black with orange stripes and some carbon fiber rims, looks sweet but no way would I pay that money for a v6.

that's what everyone said about the Buick grand national when it came out!! V-6????? If I remember correctly the grand nat was out running the corvettes. There are a lot of 6cyl out there that will walk all over v-8s

How much is it? Like it matters...
But if all you guys took up a collection for me... Maybe a GO FUND ME MustangSteve needs a Ford GT page and all the Mustangers out there contributed $10 each, maybe ONE lucky MS could score the GT! They could consider it a charitable contribution. Not tax deductible, but a damned charitable one!

Hint , make sure on the application your going to make the GT your daily commuter car. I told them I have a 66 GT fastback and have driven it daily for the last 30 years. For this they should wave the $450000 and give it to me. We will see if they fall for it.

Friend of mine is on the list for one, or I should say he applied and filled out the questionaire. Not sure when he will find out if he gets to write that check.
He already has a 07, 10, 13 GT500 and a 16 GT350, went for a ride in the GT350 yesterday, that 5.2 flat plane pulls like a freight train, he took it to 150 and it was starting to run out of gas at that point, sure not bad for a naturally aspirated engine.

Consider the V8s of the day, which didn't even put out 1HP/cube. The Grand National was a special case that was developed by Kenny Duttweiler. It had stuff that the Corvette didn't like sequential port EFI when the Vette was still running batch fire TPI. It also got the 2004R trans, which is better from a performance standpoint than the 700R4 the automatic Vettes and F-bodies got. It was a runner in its day, but consider that they ran 13s stock with a good driver, maybe high 12s in a GNX ('87 only special edition) with good tries and a good driver. I run 13 flat in an 8,000lb Diesel truck. Times have changed. The GN gets respect for what it could do in its day, and sure there are a lot of them out there that run 9 & 10 second ETs with work, but the GN was also an upgraded luxo barge. It could be had for a heck of a lot less than this new GT. The GN was performance for the family guy, and there were concessions made to that, as well as it being a rolling test bed for EFI and turbo technology. A supercar shouldn't make concessions. Now twin turbo V8 and maybe we're talking.

And another think...how many people step up to a $450K super ride cause they are concerned about ECOnomy or the Environmental COnsequences? Hmmmmm? The ECO Boost name is fine for a Tearass or the F150 butt (TS&T), for $450K it should be called...oh, I don't know. How about HYPER-Blast or Grenade-O-Matic...maybe "Farrari Flatulator"...anything other than, "Granny's very economical, yet goes like stink, enviro-friendly V6 that is basically the same as you can get in your Tearass."
