Hi guys been a while since I've been on the forum, regrettably sold my beautiful 66 Emberglo fastback and prob will never be able to afford one as good again, got a 64.5 6 cyl Coupe that's pretty solid I'm seriously thinking about doing a fastback conversion project, and a V8 manual transmission
Any help links advice much appreciated, I see there's still a lot of familiar names still alive and kicking good to see

I am doing one right now. See post titled Match made in Heaven.
My advice: Just buy a v8 fastback.

My thoughts exactly.
Even if you buy a clunker w/ just the chassis and body you would be so much farther ahead w/ time and money than any kind of conversion. These kits alone cost $6k:
Unless you really want to go through the experience (I'm not knocking you, to each their own) this is really unnecessary. I've seen decent fastbacks that just need a paint job and upholstery for less than $10k. You are going to be out way more than that in just the conversion. I'd sell your existing ride and pour that money into a fastback. You'll come out a head in time and money.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
