bellhousing ID# for T5?

I'm acquiring parts to do a C4 to T5 swap on my 67 coupe (289/PS/PB).

How do I properly ID a bellhousing?  Friend has one with d9zc-6394-ba on it, but the bolt holes don't line up properly with the T5 I have on the bench.  The shop that built the transmission said it has the "shorter" input and a 3.35 first gear (1352-199).

What numbers of features should I be looking for to get the correct bellhousing?

Re: bellhousing ID# for T5?

The tag on your t5 shows it to be from a 90-91 5.0 mustang. Match the bell to the trans, ie: foxbody bell...

Re: bellhousing ID# for T5?

E3ZR-6394AA is the one I am using on a T5 that came out of a 94. I had to put in the shorter input shaft. I'm putting it on a 1970 351W and it fits fine. So far. It also fits on the 302 and 250 six cylinder. I don't know about a 289 but it probably will.

Re: bellhousing ID# for T5?

So what transmission is the d9zc-6394-ba  bellhousing for?  I've seen it advertised for 302 and 5.0 engines and Tremec transmissions in the 79-93 years.  But this one clearly is not for the T5.

Re: bellhousing ID# for T5?

D9ZC indicates that the part originated in '79 and was used in a Mustang.  That being said, the Mustang did not have a T5 in '79.  The T5 was introduced in '83 in what would later become known as the NWC (non Wold Class) variant.  The WC (World Class) T5 came out in '85.  From '79-'82 the Mustang used the SROD (Single Rail Overdrive) 4 speed as its only manual transmission.  Based on the part number that's what the bellhousing you have is for.

E6ZR-6394. The number will be next to clutch arm opening. I can double check when I get home today.

E6ZR-6394-AA. This was removed from a ‘92 GT.

Re: bellhousing ID# for T5?

You need to buy a fulcrum kit also. I bought 2 because I got impatient. I'll sell you the one I didn't use for $O plus shipping if you want it.

One thing to keep in mind.

Get the correct flywheel for your engine balance.
