Left turn signal issue Strange!

I have sequential tail lights and they work great but they need the led flasher. My left turn signal will not work even when changing back to filament bulbs. Here is what I have found after doing some testing

Emergency flashers works for all the lights
Same problem on led or filament bulbs
I changed the left filament bulb and the led bulb with the right turn signal and they work so not the bulbs
I grounded the housing with another ground wire, no luck
I tested the wires for power and I get a constant hot for the park light and a flashing voltage for the turn signal
I tested the right turn lights voltages and get the same voltage
I tested the socket and get the voltage on park and flasher contacts
I removed the turn signal housing (it's new) and get voltage on a separate battery on both bulb filaments, they work
The led flasher has a ground wire
The bulb will only seat one way so I know it's in the socket correctly

How can I get power to both left turn and park wires but the turn signal doesn't work?

Turn signal switch can cause untold problems.
What year is the Mustang?

Re: Left turn signal issue Strange!

Is this just a problem with the rear? Does the left front turn signal work OK?

If this forum can't fix it, it isn't broke.

Re: Left turn signal issue Strange!

It's a 65 Mustang, it's just with the left front turn signal and its an aftermarket switch. What is weird is that i'm getting power to the light

I had an issue exactly like you describe in my car shortly after I bought it.  It was indeed the t-signal switch.  My advice would be source an NOS one.  They pop up on eBay with some frequency, and usually aren't ridiculously expensive.

I'll apologize up front  but have to ask the oblivious, did you change the bulb recently? Do you have the correct 2 filament bulb? Is it in the socket correctly?

Re: Left turn signal issue Strange!

When the led light quit working I replaced the with the new 1157 bulbs, I know they are seating correctly because they won't stay in the socket if not correct.
The turn signal switch on this car cancels about a quarter of the turn of the wheel, I think that the plastic that is made of is really stiff compared to the Ford switches. I was thinking of thinning down the plastic arms to make it more flexible so it won't cancel early. With all these problems it may be wise to just get an NOS switch like TKOPerformance said. thanks

Re: Left turn signal issue Strange!

?? when you say the   Emergency flashers works for all the lights
left doesn't work
does the right work - sequential
if it does then maybe bad sequential unit

just thinking ??

Re: Left turn signal issue Strange!

When I turn on the emergency flashers all of the front and rear lights flash, it's just the left turn signal that won't work when using the blinker. I checked the socket again today and it is getting constant power for the park light and off/on power with the turn signal on. I noticed that my meter reads 12 volts but the reading fades down but never completely off, I checked the right turn signal and that is doing the same but the bulb works. I have noticed once I turn the turn signal off the relay blinks a couple of more times before it quits. I never noticed that before. Also the left turn signal dash light isn't working

Re: Left turn signal issue Strange!

Canceling early is likely a function of the canceling cam position being off (reclock it)

Re: Left turn signal issue Strange!

Is there a picture of the proper location? The internet is full of guesses
