Hey Guys,
Added the MS brackets with 2014 mustang GT brackets on the front and 2019 Mustang GT on rear. I have always had the ford ranger master cylinder with the 2000 mustang reservoir. Its Disc/ Drum. I also have a adjustable proportioning valve on the rear brakes. Since we still have salt and snow on the roads I haven't driven the car yet. I did drive it back and forth in the garage and the brakes and emergency brakes work. Seems like the pedal goes down farther than I like. Do I need to try bleeding the brakes again or do I need the disc/ disc master cylinder. I was trying to avoid changing out the master cylinder. Here's a video of the pedal.
thanks

That pedal movement looks like too much for sure for power brakes. I have almost the same setup as far as an MC, but I do have disc/disc. Bench bleed the MC again and try the brake bleeding procedure again. Also, how did you set up the actuating rod clearance when you installed the MC? Are you possibly getting some extra movement before the rod contacts the piston?

Do you have the parking brake cable connected? You MUST adjust the rear calipers to remove slack in the parking brake system. It will eliminate all excess travel. If you do not have cables attached, clamp onto the parking brake levers with vise-grips and apply the parking brake repeatedly until the lever will no longer adjust. Do both calipers.
That, or air entrainment in the system, or booster output shaft too short, like Ron said. But parking brakes must be used in order to keep slack out of the system.

Thanks Ron. I installed the MS pedal and Booster probably
5 years ago. The pedal seemed pretty good with the disc/ drum. From what I remember I did run the actuating rod so it was tight again the master cylinder with no play.

My son and I used the cable claims to attach the 69 cable with the 2019 cable. So when we were testing the emergency brake cable as soon as he hit the emergency brake pedal it was pulling the emergency bracket on the caliper. So I thought all the slack was gone from the cables and working properly. Should there be more tension on the emergency caliper springs? It does seem like the emergency brake pedal does go down farther than old the drum brakes when they were connected. Thanks for the help! Steve69

Apply the parking brake over and over until it gets hard to pull and does not move as far. Applying it just once or twice will not get it adjusted. Do it ten times, at least.
It will ratchet the piston tighter every time it gets pulled.

I hit the emergency brake about 50 times. Didn't make much difference. The emergency brake seems to work properly. Seems to have more pressure when I push it down. The brake pedal is up and hard but as soon as the engine starts it drops back down like in the video. Ill try the bleeding again and see if that helps. If not onto the master cylinder and rod. Thanks Steve69
