Assume a new heater core for any year Mustang.
Assume aluminum or copper.
Assume good quality too.
Assume no pressure relief, for this experiment.
What kind of pressure can it operate at before failure?

I test mine around 25 psi to be sure. I know for sure they can't handle 120

Since my radiator cap is 13 lbs I checked my heater core to 20 psi before installing it. Can I ask what prompted you to axe this question???

Probably has something to do with that 12’ of snow piled around the eaves of his shop for the last three months!!! My mind would go mad with U.P. weather.

This was a mild winter. Can’t complain...this year.
Never have seen what maximum pressure heater cores are rated.
What is maximum pressure when QA testing....🤣
I really think the aluminum made cores can withstand much higher pressures...like 200 psi or more.

I would doubt anything close to 200 psi. The thin walled, flat tubing would surely balloon out way before that pressure was reached. IF that pressure could ever be achieved. Hoses would go at under 100, I bet.
The radiator pressure cap, at 13 psi, is the limiting device for the system.

I am betting cooler for air lines to condense moisture from the lines? Heck, just toss 50’ of hose out there under the snow bank. Ice doesn’t count as moisture, right?
